Our Core Values |
The Big Picture |
SIYANA IS MORE THAN JUST OUR NAMETo be different, is the English translation of the Shona phrase Siyana. Shona, with origins in the Bantu linguistic family, is a language spoken by people throughout Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The Shona culture proclaims children and youth to be its most valuable treasure. This proclamation is a recurring ideal depicted in Shona sculptures of parent and child, families with children, and communities with children at the center. We borrowed the name Siyana to pay homage and uplift our philosophical solidarity with Shona culture. |
